Glance left
Time stands still as you twist your neck ever so
slightly round to the right, so that the ball will
glance off it into the far corner. As the driving rain
lashes your eyes it occurs to you that this might be a
risky option. Sure enough, the wet ball skids off your
forehead, clipping the post before running away
towards the left touchline. Bugger. You track back to
the centre circle wishing the ground would swallow you
up, but GT still refuses to send Wooter on to replace
you. As you struggle on manfully and the match fizzles
out into a draw, you wonder what would have happened
if only you'd attempted...
