The Birmingham ticket queue

It was an act of wilful (and ultimately unnecessary) lunacy. Dozens of Watford fans queued all night in Occupation Road to
ensure a place at the second leg of the playoff semi-final with Birmingham - the first people arrived at
7:30 in the evening (which, by anyone's standards, is complete madness) and by five o'clock in the morning the queue had reached
Vicarage Road. It was fun, in a spirit-of-the-blitz kinda way. Later that day, people who'd had a proper night's sleep were able to stroll up to the ticket office, buy their
tickets without queueing and walk away. But we weren't to know that, were we?
