Not exactly the most auspicious of Watford careers, this. Hill was signed by Roeder as a creative midfielder and played just one game for the Hornets - it was Roeder's last, a horrendous 4-0 drubbing at Palace. The only lasting impression of Hill is that he got caught in possession far too often - but I felt at the time that that was as much to do with total lack of movement up front as anything else. Anyway, Roeder was sacked, Taylor took over and Hill returned to Spurs.
