BLIND, STUPID AND DESPERATE

98/99: Review:
March
By Ian Lay

And you thought February was bad? Well, it just gets worse. This is very likely to be the shortest monthly review on record. Nothing to talk about. Nothing to get excited about. Nothing to even glean much hope from. And besides six girls of about the age of 17 have just turned up at my doorstep and therefore Ig has obviously been busy keeping his promise. Thanks Ig.

We only scored twice this month and that was in the first game against Ipswich and we were 3-0 down at the time. I didn't go, but apparently the scoreline didn't do us justice at all. We should have lost about 5-2.

Sheffield United away and a rare event in which I missed two games in a row. Apparently despite losing 3-0 we deserved to get something out of the game. Yeah, right.

And so onto Oxford. Dreary, poor, mindless... just a few words that describes this review, and of course the game.

Our best chance came after only a couple of minutes. Tommy Smith put clean through with only the keeper to beat unfortunately just knocked it wide. Shame really because if we had scored we probably would have gone onto win easily. As it was we couldn't find our way through again and as Oxford's attacking ideas were just as limited a rather tame and boring 0-0 draw was the result.

Bury at home was not much better. We created a few chances but in general we looked like we'd been up half the night drinking and smoking and couldn't be arsed to run around much. Okay, in reality that isn't true, but it's the best comparison I can make when I'm this depressed.

March is a month I just want to forget.

Best moments: You are joking, right?

Worst moments: March

Funniest moments: This review (that's how bad it was)
