BLIND, STUPID AND DESPERATE

94/95 review:
October

Charlton Athletic 3 Watford 0
Spurs 2 Watford 3 (Foster, Nogan 2)
Derby County 1 Watford 1 (Nogan)
Watford 3 Notts County 1 (Nogan, Moralee, Ramage)
Watford 2 Tranmere Rovers 0 (Nogan 2)
Bolton Wanderers 3 Watford 0

A sparkling first half display didn't prevent us getting heavily beaten at Charlton as Miller returned from suspension - the woodwork wasn't our friend that day. We gave it our best shot at Spurs in the Coca-Cola Cup and pulled off a memorable victory, coming very close to getting the goals we needed as Lee Nogan embarked on a remarkable scoring run. That run continued at Derby, where Gary Porter was guilty of another penalty miss. We made hard work of beating stuggling Notts County, doing our best to chuck away a three goal lead, but thoroughly outclassed Tranmere in one of the finest displays of the season, playing some lovely football. Alas we couldn't keep up the good work at Bolton where the division's classiest side won comfortably.
