BLIND, STUPID AND DESPERATE

94/95 review:
February

West Bromwich Albion 0 Watford 1 (Ramage)
Southend United 0 Watford 4 (Bazeley 3, Ramage)
Watford 2 Burnley 0 (Ramage, Bazeley)
Watford 0 Crystal Palace 0
Watford 0 Sunderland 1

Some cracking wins to start the month. With Nigel Jemson on loan from Notts County we took the points in a re-arranged fixture at the Hawthorns. Better was to come as we put Peter Taylor back on the dole, a first half Bazeley hat-trick disposing of a shambolic Southend side. Shame I couldn't see any of it from my seat. Roots Hall - just say no. We were less impressive in the mud against Burnley but won it late as Bazeley found the net again. The Palace FA Cup tie brought a packed house but it was an awful game. The pitch was in a bad state but Alan Smith's moaning ignored the fact that Palace don't play on the pitch anyway, preferring the aimless welly onto the head of Preece. Sunderland came desperate for points and got them thanks to a bad early goal - the shock of conceding seeming to disconcert us, although Kevin Phillips had a good debut.
