BLIND, STUPID AND DESPERATE

94/95 review:
December

Tranmere Rovers 2 Watford 1 (Moralee)
Grimsby Town 0 Watford 0
Watford 0 Sheffield United 0
Watford 2 Portsmouth 0 (Ramage, Shipperley)
Millwall 2 Watford 1 (Ramage)
Watford 3 Port Vale 2 (Foster, og, Ramage)

A stop-start kind of month. By all accounts, our performance at Tranmere deserved all three points but a last-minute goal meant we came away with none. Neil Shipperley arrived on loan from Chelsea but we couldn't score against either Grimsby or Sheffield United. Boxing Day brought Portsmouth who dominated the first half but couldn't score and were punished in the second half. The next day a massive Watford contingent travelled to Millwall where masterful displays by Miller and Holdsworth prevented a goal avalanche before we nearly achieved a late comeback from two goals down, Mooney wasting a last-gasp penalty. More late excitement on New Year's Eve as a wonderful lobbed goal by Ramage gained an undeserved win, Port Vale having played football that made nonsense of their lowly position.
