Luton have been through the mill since they knocked us out of the League Cup three years ago, but Mike Newell has done far better than one might have expected following his phone-poll unveiling during the John Gurney fiasco, and the ease with which the Hatters won their League last year suggests that they won't have too many problems staying up. Squad strengthening has been quite modest, but a comfortable season in mid-table looks in store.
