Saint of the Day: Saint Wenceslaus was a good king to some - building churches, doing good deeds and trying to convert his subjects to Christianity - but was unpopular with the pagan royal court and his own brother who had him murdered. He was practically unknown in England, a country he never visited, until someone realised his name would fit well to a traditional melody and a Christmas carol was born.
