Saint of the Day: Saint John of God's CV included herding sheep, being a soldier and slave dealing before he settled down to run a little book shop. That was until he was sent suddenly mad by the words of a traveling preacher. The preacher diagnosed guilt as the root of the madness and set John on the road to salvation with a new career in charitable works.
