BLIND, STUPID AND DESPERATE

03/04: Preview: Stoke City
BSaD opinion
by Matt Rowson and Ian Grant

How did they do?
Were pretty dreadful for most of the season, Tony Pulis salvaging enough points to survive at the last by standing Mark Crossley between the sticks, filling in the small gaps either side of him with his other ten players and grabbing a load of goalless draws...

How will they do?
Only barely survived last time, and having lost a number of significant players over the break look certain to go down. Pulis obviously hasn't got a lot to play with and the players he's bringing in look like good signings in the circumstances, but all, including Gifton, are players you'd be happier taking a chance with than hanging the club's season on.

Stoke as a shade of Crown Paint
  "Magnolia (on woodchip wallpaper)"
A common sense choice, for the conservative home. 5-5-0 away from home, in paint form. Or something.
