BLIND, STUPID AND DESPERATE

01/02: Preview: Preston North End
BSaD opinion
by Matt Rowson

How did they do?
Exceeded everyone's expectations by playing their way into the play-offs. Overcame the odds (and fits of laughter) to dismiss Birmingham in the semis but seemed to have reached their goal by getting to the final, where Bolton, albeit flattered by the 3-0 scoreline, were much the hungrier.

How will they do?
Preston seem to have improved year-on-year ever since they pulled the apparent masterstroke of appointing centre-back David Moyes as manager. At the time of writing the Lilywhites hadn't succumbed to offers for what are becoming their star players; on this basis expect them to be up there again. The squad may not be strong enough to challenge in the face of a bad season with injuries, however.

Do we like them?
Jon Macken did them no favours with his unneccessary pirouette which slightly marred the second of two humdingers last season, but PNE conclusively won over any doubters in the Watford ranks with their play-off semi-final achievements. They play decent stuff, too...

If they were a tv or radio show, what would they be?
"The Wright and Bright show" on Radio 5 Live. Sparkly, and better than you'd think.
