Survived by the very narrowest of margins after a second-half plummet from mid-table security. Successive weeks in the Estcourt were spent mapping their progress down the division in eager anticipcation. Which remained unfulfilled. Bastards.

How will they do?
Steve Bruce's managerial record is still patchy at best, and if I were a Palace fan I wouldn't be terribly encouraged by Bruce's recent assertion that he's already done the club a massive favour by moving down south. Gee thanks Steve, I thought they were paying your wages. Lots of talk but no new signings, the squad is too strong to struggle (which is why last season was such a wasted opportunity) but don't expect them to pull up any trees.

Do we like them?
