01/02: Preview: Crewe Alexandra
BSaD opinion

How did they do?
For the second season in a row, Alex looked in serious danger of going down for much of the season. When they played us off the park at Gresty Road in February they were a very tight 20th. A late rally saw them finish 14th, the highest position they'd attained all season.

How will they do?
The loss of Rivers isn't very helpful, but you wouldn't bet against Dario Gradi producing a replacement from somewhere. In Dean Ashton, Alex have one of the most promising strikers outside of the Premiership... and critically, someone who's not going to walk out on a Bosman free within the next seven years or so. Mid-table.

Do we like them?
What's not to like ? A small club taking on the bigger spenders by playing decent football is the stuff of Roy of the Rovers. Long may they prosper.

If they were a tv or radio show, what would they be?
"Dr.Who". Low budget genius.
