Saint of the day: Saint Leocadia was a 4th Century noblewoman who became a popular Spanish saint, famed for her ability to protect her followers from the Plague. She was imprisoned and tortured for her beliefs but took inspiration from the exemplary death of St Eulalia of Barcelona. What is most miraculous is that the official church calendar states that Eulalia died the day after Leocadia did.
