What happened last season?
Last season for Birmingham was upsetting. Although we got to the
Worthington Cup Final and lost on penalties, we did compete against a
good Premiership side and I will never forget that day as long as I live.
The Preston game as well in the play offs - in the first leg when we won 1-0,
I thought "Yep, we're through to the final", but... it didn't work out like that
and I couldnt believe we lost in the second leg. Are Birmingham ever going to
make it past the play offs? I really think next season (2001/02) we can
really make a push for promotion.
What's going to happen next season?
Birmingham's next season will be a good one. I think we have signed a good
new player (Tommy Mooney) - hee-hee, Watford fans. I really think he will get us
up as he scored more than twenty goals for Watford last season, so I think we can
make a push for second spot. If not, play-offs but I really don't want it to end
up like the past 3 years!
Can you recommend a pub for away fans?
Although the majority of Blues fans are a friendly bunch, there are a few mindless minority who
alas frequent the local pubs - not recommended to visit the local pubs with rival team colours.
What's the nearest railway station?
Birmingham New Street. Not that far from the ground - you can actually see the ground when you get off the train. It's about 5-10 minutes by bus.
Where is the best place to park?
The Church of Prophet car park on Cattel Road, £3.00.
Soundbites (from assorted Census correspondents)
"If Blues dont win automatic promotion, I hope we will play Watford in the final cuz i would love to see Tommy Mooney score against you guys. Sorry!"
"Tommy Mooney is not the striker we need. I wish we'd stop filling up the team with free-transfered rejects and spend some money on younger potential."
"Our board has about as much ambition as Crewe!""
"Blues are the best team in Div 1 by miles, its only been a conspiracy by other jealous clubs and referees that have stoped us going up..this time its different!!!!"
"We all Villa" (sic)
