Saint of the day: Rebecca Al Rayes was born into a Christian family in Nineteenth Century Lebanon. After overhearing her aunt and stepmother discussing plans to marrying her off, Rebecca fled to a local convent. She lived a simple and humble life, but something was missing - pain. Rebecca begged God not to abandon her and her prayers. Rebecca lived the rest of her life in agonising pain for which she was very grateful.
