BLIND, STUPID AND DESPERATE

00/01: Season preview:
Tranmere: opposition opinion
by Barbara, of Rovers Rearguard

How will Tranmere do next season?
After last season's success in the Cups, confidence is high. Rovers have lost a number of players, but the backbone remains intact, and with new signings there is no reason why we can't be challenging for at least a playoff place. Season ticket sales are well up, with over four thousand sold so far, and when you consider that Rovers average gates are only around eight thousand that's pretty good going.

What do you/Tranmere think of Watford?
Rovers fans don't bear any bad feelings towards Watford, we just want to stuff you, but that's only natural!

What is the most beautiful thing about Tranmere?
The very rare occasion when everything clicks and it feels like we could beat Brazil.

What is the ugliest thing about Tranmere?
Every other time!

Which pundit do Tranmere fans hate the most and please think of something creative to do to him/her?
Elton Welsby, a Granada presenter. Don't think we need to do anything, as Granada have axed him according to the local press. Result!

Can you recommend a friendly pub near Prenton Park?
Most away fans end up in the Clipper which is right next to the ground.

Where's the best place to park near Prenton Park?
Parking isn't much fun, as it's all residents' areas. Get there early and you might get into the official carpark. Otherwise you have to join the drive around with the home fans till you find a speck.

What's the nearest rail station to Prenton Park and how far is it ?
Rock Ferry about a mile from the ground turn right and walk up Bedford Road, before turning right when you can see the ground in the distance. Or Birkenhead Central, which is better for getting a bus to the ground, but further away.
