Rodney Marsh (x2 - "Excuse the Language");Hoops; Mid-table; Nicky Wright; 1-1; Tommy Smith; Water
Two years ago saw Nicky Wright's invigorating arrival in the first team, a fine goal from the same man at Loftus Road and Tommy Smith's first goal for Watford. A Gary Bannister hat-trick lurks in the recesses of my mind... best not go there.
A vast improvement for the Hoops under Gerry Francis with a comfortable tenth place having nearly gone down the year before. Francis made good use of his loan options last season... Watford fans in particular will thank him for the extra stone that has transformed Darren Ward.
Rangers' summer signings betray the limitations to their ambitions. Whilst there's clearly no law stating that you have to spend big to get promoted (and certainly Francis has demonstrated his ability to spot a bargain with the signing of Stuart Wardley amongst others) it's hard to see the Rangers squad having the strength in depth to maintain a promotion challenge. Mid-table.
How to annoy a QPR fan
Just go on about how great Darren Ward is, thank them profusely for their part in his development, and point out that he's not for sale.
* A unique experiment, featuring instant reactions from BSaD pundits to the mention of the club's name.
