BLIND, STUPID AND DESPERATE

Norwich: BSaD opinion

Previous encounters
The win at Carrow Road crowned by Gary Porter's late goal in 1996 promised a sunrise that never came. The earlier godawfulonthetellyagain home defeat that season was one of the lowest points of Roeder's reign. Two draws in the play-off season including a shocking miss by Iwan Roberts at the Vic and Rocket Ronnie's last hurrah at Carrow Road.

Last season
Norwich hung around inconspicuously in mid-table and hoped nobody would notice. Nobody did. They finished twelfth.

Next season
It must seem a long time since City were knocking Bayern Munich out of the UEFA Cup. The last couple of league campaigns have been nothing to write home about, and even if they manage to hang onto Bellamy City are nothing more than a solid enough side. Revelations that City's players' wages were paid out of Delia Smith's own pocket at one point last season do not point towards City hanging on to Bellamy and building towards the play-offs. Bottom half seems more likely.

How to annoy a Norwich fan
Although I wasn't there, I'm told that Steve Palmer scoring did the job on a grand scale last time....

* A unique experiment, featuring instant reactions from BSaD pundits to the mention of the club's name.
